Bearing plants functioning on the territory of the CIS

150 factories specialized in the production of bearings were closed after a collapse of the USSR. However, not all businesses suffered such a fate; to the 1990-th years there were 34 bearing plant throughout the former USSR, and all of them were in state property. SBP (state bearing plants) has succeeded in survival for a short term, so, now there are no companies of such ownership form, because the «privatization» made them joint-stock companies, at best.

Radical changes

They occurred immediately after the disappearance of SBP. The number of orders decreased, China flooded the market with cheap bearings of dubious quality, and many enterprises specializing in the production of similar products went bankrupt and ceased to exist. Currently, three dozens of companies engaged in production of bearings operate on the territory of CIS. A number of assembly plants, so-called «bearing plants», are not in fact so, because they are only engaged in assembling and remarking of products from the components produced by Asian manufacturers.

Revival of traditions

Baltic Bearing Factory (BBF) was founded in 2013 in the EU. Its main activity of which is the production of bearings, intended for use in various industries. It is worth noting that Baltic Bearing Factory did not appear on the ruins of the former SBP, as it is an enterprise that was created «from scratch». Today, BBF is a dynamically developing company, that is able to compete with the leading suppliers of bearing products from all over the world.
